Biometric Fingerprint Reader

In the TimePilot PC system, the optional biometric fingerprint reader can be used as an alternative to iButtons.

The USB-based fingerprint scanner plugs into the PC running TimePilot PC, and users clock in and out by touching a finger to a lens at the top of the device. The device scans the fingerprint and matches it to an employee's template in its database. The employee's name appears on the TimePilot PC screen and the employee proceeds to clock in or out.

To ensure personal privacy, the image of the user's fingerprint is not stored. Instead, the image is immediately translated into an encrypted template that is stored and cannot be used to recreate the user's fingerprint.
