Setup Examples
The situation: Time clocks connected to PCs at
remote locations.
The solution:
Each location has a TimePilot Standard
time clock station connected to a PC, which records the time and
attendance data for that remote location. The TimePilot software is loaded onto
each of the remote locations' PCs as well as the payroll manager's PC at
the company's main location. When
it's time to do the payroll, there are three choices:
- The supervisors at each location
prepare their time and attendance data, use the TimePilot software
to export the data in TimePilot format and e-mail the resulting file to the payroll
manager. The payroll manager imports the file into his or her TimePilot
software and prepares the data for payroll
processing.
- The payroll manager uses a program like Symantec's "pcAnywhere" to access the TimePilot software on
each of the PCs at the company's locations. The manager then exports
the time and attendance data in TimePilot format and imports it into
his or her TimePilot software. From there, the data can
prepared for payroll processing.
- Each location handles its time and attendance data independently. Supervisors at each location prepare the data and export it
in their payroll service's format. Then they send the file directly to the payroll service or to the company's main location, where the
remote locations' files are combined and forwarded to the payroll service.
