Home > Testimonials TimePilot TestimonialsThis is an excerpt from an e-mail we received: "We have been users of the TimePilot PC program for almost 2 years now and have been extremely pleased. It's simple enough that any employee can understand it, but robust enough that it can handle most of our needs. ... I think it would be fantastic to have some sort of portable device that, when you sync it with their computer, it could port in their time. It would really correct the only complaint I have with the system. Otherwise, I've found it to be absolutely wonderful."
Vivian Salib, Office Manager We told Ms. Salib about the new TimePilot Extreme, which seems to answer her wishes, and also asked if we could quote her e-mail on our web site. Her reply: "I don't mind that at all, under one
condition: You add something about how wonderful the technical
support is. :) In 2 years, I haven't had a single problem that I
haven't been able to fix in under 5 minutes, and never had to
call the support line. The first time that I did actually have a
serious error, your technical support staff worked tirelessly
with me to correct the error with the minimum amount of data
loss - none, actually! I'm looking forward to the release of
your new product. It's exactly what we've been looking for."
"I can't imagine going back to the old system of time cards," he says. MacNeille is vice president of Charlestowne Cabinet and Countertop Distributors, a 50-employee business outside Chicago. Before TimePilot, MacNeille used to count his employees' hours on printed time cards. "We used to have to strain our eyes to see the little black or red numbers," he says. "I'd sit there with the cards, holding them up to the light trying to read them." MacNeille says he used to take several hours to process his company's payroll. "Now it takes about 10 minutes," he says. He also likes the fact that without time cards, employees aren't tempted to alter their hours by writing on the cards. "One of the greatest things is that there's no way for anyone to manipulate the system," he says. Because Charlestowne fabricates some of its products, the TimePilot got a workout both in an office environment and in a factory environment. MacNeille says the paper punch clocks didn't fare too well in the manufacturing environment because sawdust would work its way into the punch clock's ink tank, gumming up the works. That was eliminated when his company went to TimePilot. "We're big fans of the system," he says. MacNeille says the TimePilot software is easy to use. ""It's very simple," he says. "Anyone who can run a computer can hop in and do it." MacNeille uses TimePilot Standard and says the system is
a bargain. "You can save [its cost] very quickly (by using the system)," he says.
Wood, whose 15-employee Illinois company is 19 years old, has been using the TimePilot system for the last four years. He says his old time card system was time-consuming and "prone to errors with guys punching in and out." It took an hour a week to process the cards, he says. "When we switched (to TimePilot), it brought our payroll processing time down to 15 minutes with zero errors," he says. "It's been a huge help." Wood also likes the way TimePilot exports data to his payroll processing program. "It gave us a nice, neat format," he says. Wood estimates that TimePilot
saves his company about $100 a month. "And that's with 15 employees," he
says. "You could very easily extrapolate that (to more savings for
companies with more employees). It's a great product."
Novak especially likes the reports that the TimePilot system can generate. "I like the summation feature--the reports that I get make my job a lot easier," he says. "It's more accurate." Novak says that when the company used a time card system, he spent four hours every two weeks counting up his employees' hours. With the TimePilot system, it takes him about 30 minutes and has made his employees more accountable, he says. "When we had time cards, if people forgot to clock in, they'd just write in their time," he says. "There was no security--we just took their word for it." The system works well with his salaried employees, too. Novak says the iButton/keyfob combination that TimePilot uses has made a difference. "It's great, especially for the salaried people," he says. "(Before TimePilot) there was no way to hold them accountable; now we know they're there for their 80 hours."
