Adding employees to the XBlue Sky app

You've added a new Employee Profile to TimePilot Central (see instructions here); now how do you get the employee's profile and iButton registered on your Extreme Blue II clocks?

TimePilot XBlue Sky app icon.Actually, you don't. You just need to register them to the TimePilot XBlue Sky smartphone app (icon shown at right) that your supervisors use to collect data from the clocks.

Here's why:

  1. When an iButton is tapped to an Extreme Blue II clock, it records the iButton's serial number, as well as the time, date and whether it's an In or an Out transaction. That's it—the clock has no idea whose iButton it is.
  2. When the supervisor collects the data from the clock with the XBlue Sky app, each iButton's serial number is matched against the name and iButton serial number that was entered when the employee was set up in the system. That's how the system knows who clocked in or out.

Therefore, to add a new employee to a system, all you do is use TimePilot Central's Clock Manager to send it to the supervisor's phone. You can send it to a single supervisor or multiple supervisors. It's your choice.

Here's how it's done:

  1. After you've set up the new employee profile, start Clock Manager.
  2. Right-click the icon of the phone you want to receive the profile. (see icon at right)Sky smartphone icon
  3. Choose "Edit ID Assignments" from the menu that pops up. Click the checkbox next to the new employee's name and any others you wish to appear on the phone—the list that's currently on the phone will be overwritten), then click OK.
  4. The profiles will be sent to the phone.
  5. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for any other phone that is to include the new employee.
