Researchers offer tips on how to get valuable assistance when you ask for help. The key: If you can avoid a ‘fuzzy ask,’ the person you’re approaching for help can avoid a ‘murky understanding’ of the problem you’re trying to solve and give you good advice.

Be happier by thinking in days, weeks or years—and not in minutes

Researchers at UCLA have found that people are happier when they look at how they spend their time with a “bird’s eye view” rather than a “ground-level” task by task view. “We found that taking a broad view of time … is positively associated with higher levels of positive affect, life satisfaction, meaning in life and flourishing,” they wrote.
