Researchers at UCLA have found that people are happier when they look at how they spend their time with a “bird’s eye view” rather than a “ground-level” task by task view. “We found that taking a broad view of time … is positively associated with higher levels of positive affect, life satisfaction, meaning in life and flourishing,” they wrote.
